Custom-made tungsten alloy counterweight cylinder
Applications for Tungsten Alloy Cylinders
Tungsten alloy cylinders serve as excellent counterweight balancing blocks. For instance, when used in automotive applications, tungsten exhibits a density 3.2 times that of non-toxic materials commonly employed for automotive counterweights, thereby offering significant flexibility in vehicle design. The product set includes five 1/2-ounce cylinders, one 1/4-ounce cylinder, and two 1/8-ounce cylinders. These cylinders allow weight adjustments in 1/8-ounce increments, enabling precise control of total weight within the range of 0 to 3 ounces.
Compared to tungsten bars, tungsten alloy cylinders enjoy greater acceptance in practical applications due to their simpler manufacturing process. After pressing treatment, they exhibit excellent formability and machinability, whereas pure tungsten materials suffer from high brittleness, making them difficult to shape and prone to significant damage during processing. Moreover, the material properties of tungsten alloy cylinders make them well-suited for a wide range of subsequent machining requirements.

The cylindrical components fabricated from this material exhibit superior dimensional accuracy and surface finish, and can be processed through cutting, drilling, or grinding to produce counterweight parts that meet specific application requirements, thereby fulfilling the stringent specification demands of various precision devices. Additionally, tungsten alloy cylinders retain the inherent high density and specific gravity characteristics of tungsten alloys; under identical weight requirements, they occupy less space, making them ideal for counterweight applications aligned with lightweight design principles.
